Being a part of Oakland University's Facilities Management Group, the Building and Grounds Department consists of 54 highly dedicated and knowledgeable employees who are responsible for cleaning and maintaining campus buildings and grounds. The Oakland University campus includes 18 academic and general fund facilities occupying approximately 1.2 million square feet. These and other buildings (residence halls, aux. buildings, etc.) sit on 1441 acres that is professionally maintained and groomed. In addition, the grounds department meticulously cares for 268 acres of sports turf (athletic fields), 6,928 parking spaces in 26 parking lots, 4.78 miles of roads and 15 miles of sidewalk. Our goal is to provide an inspirational learning environment.
