Campus Beautification Project

25/11/2008 14:22

During the past four years, the Buildings and Grounds Department has pain-stakingly planted and nurtured over 250 new trees and shrubs.  Many of the trees planted on campus, whether evergreen or deciduous, are native to the Se Michigan and soil types common to Rochester Hills.  New species and varieties are constently being introduced to preserve and enhance our natural surroundings.  A couple of examples of new trees (shown below) are the Japanese Snowbell (that can be found next to Hannah Hall) and a Kentucky Coffee Tree (along Pioneer Drive).  Both of these trees are extremely hardy, aesthetically pleasing and long-lived.
